Introduction to the Canadian Criminal Justice System

This introductory course provides the student with an overview of the Canadian criminal justice system with a particular emphasis on the history, function, role and organization of Canadian law enforcement services. The operation of the criminal justice system will be examined and analyzed in light of contemporary issues affecting the system. Each of the major components from enforcement through the courts and correctional services will be explored. Category and Level: Society, Culture and Commerce, Lower Level Restrictions: Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Bachelor of Applied Arts, Paralegal Studies students are restricted from taking this course as a breadth elective
