This course provides an introduction to the theories, concepts and practical application of interpersonal communication skills. The course combines conceptual and experiential learning and strongly emphasizes skill practice and feedback. Topics include: increasing self-awareness, anger and conflict resolution, feedback and emotional intelligence. Students will practice verbal, non-verbal and communication skills in order to work effectively in the field of community and social services. Note: Not eligible for Degree Breadth elective.
