Many crises have a profound impact on families.
This course will address the many common crises faced by families such as divorce, substance abuse, illness and loss, physical and sexual abuse and violence. Participants will obtain theory related to family dynamics and power issues in families. A brief review of family systems theory will be incorporated, as a foundation to understanding approaches to intervention. Strategies related to specific crises that families face will be discussed extensively. A discussion of reporting requirements will also be included.
