  • Course | VAW 102Program Development

Program development is an essential skill that managers use to demonstrate the efficacy and efficiency of programs.

It allows for accountability to upper management, funders, service users and other stakeholders. Program development plans outline the activities and resources required to reach the overall goals of the organization. Successful program plans provide detail and show how each activity supports the organization's mission.

Learners will develop skills in this course to work with their executive directors to implement the elements of program planning from a client-centred perspective. They will also be prepared to:

  • conduct a needs assessment
  • implement a planning tool
  • set, track and monitor objectives
  • develop appropriate models of evaluation
  • understand the use of qualitative and quantitative data.
