This introductory course provides students with an overview of the Canadian criminal justice system, with a particular emphasis placed on the history, function, role and organization of each of the components of the system. The operation of the criminal justice system will be examined and analyzed in light of contemporary issues affecting the system. Each of the major components from enforcement through the courts and correctional services will be explored.
