Inclusion and Equity in the Fire Service

In this course, students become familiar with inclusive and equitable practices as they related to the fire service. Students examine how individual experience, and society, influence personal values and beliefs. By exploring the legal and sociological underpinnings of human rights, students learn about the impact of inequality on the delivery of effective social services, and how to optimize service delivery to be client-centred and focused on community empowerment. Students focus on topics pertaining to inequality in various social settings, inclusion within the workplace, and the nuances of serving the Canadian public.
