This course focuses on using the Internet as an investigative tool (Open-Source Intelligence or OSINT) for both private-sector and public-sector investigations. Delivered in computer lab facilities, students learn to conduct open-source, online investigations in an effective, legal, and ethical manner. Students also learn how to maximize the effectiveness of search engines, find and analyze images and videos, and use application programming interfaces. The course further provides students with tools and techniques to seek and acquire online evidence from the Internet's most prominent social media networks.
