Security professionals in the private and public sectors are increasingly intersecting with the realm of internet technologies and interacting with IT departments in their day-to-day activities. Cybersecurity can no longer be separated from traditional security roles. In this course, students learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity, defined as the protection of digital or physical assets from damage or threats to software, hardware or the information stored therein. Using computer lab facilities, students will learn to identify common cyber threats and implement effective countermeasures that enhance organization security.
