Humber has a network of Centres of Innovation (COIs) that brings together interdisciplinary teams of faculty, students, and community and industry partners to solve complex, real-world problems. COIs provide an experiential learning environment for Humber students and prepares them to become the innovative and strategic problem-solvers of tomorrow.
Social Innovation
Humber’s strength in social innovation focuses on community development. Through the mobilization of fresh ideas, new technologies and entrepreneurial thinking, community issues are addressed on local, national and global levels.
The Faculty of Social & Community Services provides leadership in cross-college social innovation activities in collaboration with community and industry partners. Humber facilities supporting social innovation include the Conflict Resolution Simulation Lab, the Crime Lab, the Forensic Studio and a Centre for Social Innovation, which is in development.
