Policies and procedures support Humber’s vision, mission, values and strategic goals and their purpose is to guide the action and decision-making of individuals on a particular subject. This Humber HRS site is intended as a reference for all members of the Humber community - students, employees, applicants, visitors, contractors, and suppliers. Students should be aware of policies that are identified under “For Students”. Others may access a policy by searching a category, the alphabetical listing or by keywords under Policy Search on the hrs.humber.ca website.

Accessibility
The College is committed to fulfilling the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and this policy outlines the obligations of the College and its employees to meet the requirements outlined under the AODA.

Humber is committed to providing an accessible learning, working, and living environment that is inclusive of all persons and supports all members of the Humber community in an equitable manner.

Asbestos Management Policy
The Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning (hereafter referred to as "Humber" or "the College") is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment to its employees, students, leasehold tenants, contractors, and visitors. Humber will ensure that an effective Asbestos Management Program is in place to actively manage and rigorously control all asbestos-containing materials in College buildings and all activities which may disturb such materials.


Code of Student Community Standards
The Humber College Code of Ethics outlines the principles and values that guide the conduct of all employees of the College and honours the preservation and protection of fundamental human rights. Underlying the code is a belief that each employee has a right to dignity and respect. By supporting and abiding by this Code, the employees of Humber College will demonstrate by their behaviour that they have concern for students, other employees, and the community at large. 


Human Rights and Harassment Policy
This policy outlines Humber's position related to acceptable and unacceptable behaviour with respect to human rights and the responsibilities of the College, students and employees.


Smoke-Free Campus Policy
To promote a smoke free learning and working environment for the college community in accordance with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 1994.

Occupational Health and Safety Policy
It is the goal of Humber to construct every structure, plan every activity and perform all tasks in a manner that reduces to the absolute minimum health hazards and the possibility of injury.


Workplace Violence Prevention Policy
Humber is committed to providing a safe learning/working environment that promotes a voilence-free environment.


Faculty Academic/Professional Credential Requirements
This policy outlines the academic and/or professional credentials required of faculty to teach at Humber.


Professional Development Policy
Humber is committed to both educational excellence and to the development of its people. This policy establishes guidelines for the evaluation of all Humber faculty.


Wearing of Kirpan
Humber respects the rights of those that are baptized observers of Khalsa Sikhism and those who observe the Sikh religion to wear as part of their religious beliefs.
