Jacqueline Edwards began her career with the Correctional Service of Canada and became the first female president of the Association of Black Law Enforcers (ABLE), initiating important conversations and relationships to reform anti-Black racism in law enforcement. She was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and she received in 2021 the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police’s President’s Award of Merit, the highest honour for Ontario police leaders. Edwards leads by engaging diverse voices in building bridges between the sector and the community. She serves on several sector boards and committees, advocating and emphasizing the co-creation of change.
