Motorola Summer Camp

The Humber College Motorola Foundation’s First Response Camp ran for its inaugural session in July 2023. For five days, 21 local equity deserving youth participants were invited to Humber’s Lakeshore and North campuses to explore first response careers. Participants joined Humber staff, faculty alumni and current students to partake in hands-on activities related to the following First Response programs: Police Foundations (PFP), Forensic Identification (FI), Protection, Security & Investigation (PSI), Emergency Telecommunications (EMTC), Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), and Fire Services.

The camp also focused on mental health, wellness and resiliency as well as post-secondary applications and funding. All participants received OCAS vouchers to reduce barriers to post-secondary applications and five participants will have the chance to receive a Motorola Foundations inclusivity scholarship.
