CJS Faculty Member Julet Allen Publishes Chapter on Anti-Blackness in Education

Congratulations to Julet Allen on her chapter “Anti-Discriminatory Education for Black Children and Youth: When, How, and Why,” which was published in the Handbook of Anti-Discriminatory Education earlier this year. The book chapter aims to create a better, more empowering, and anti-racist way of educating Black children and youth in Canada, acknowledging the reality of systemic racism despite Canada's diverse image. It looks at ideas and builds a base for teaching against discrimination in a way that helps Black youth feel free and empowered through a deeper understanding of the world around them.
