Another successful Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) took place in September, with students in the Bachelor of Addictions & Mental Health (BAMH) program at FSCS, and students involved in Social Education and Social Work programs in the Interdisciplinary project “TIP” at UCL University College Denmark. This COIL brought students together to work collaboratively on developing a case study, and interdisciplinary intervention plan, highlighting the differences in approaches from Canada and Denmark as part of the process. Students jointly created video presentations in mixed groups, over the course of three weeks, coming together at six touchpoints to meet, learn, discuss, and share what they know about their own country’s policies and approaches. They also had an opportunity to learn about intercultural communication and development and reflect on their own experiences within the project through our Intercultural Development workshop series.
