Global Speaker Webinar

An exciting three-part Global Speaker Webinar was held on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 AM EST for students in justice programs at the FSCS: Criminal Justice (CJ), Police Foundations (PFP), Protection, Security & Investigation (PSI), Community & Justice Services (CJS), Forensic Identification (FI). The webinar series Community Safety: Old Issues, New Solutions brought in speakers from Toronto Police Services – Neighbourhood Community Officer program, Glasgow City Council’s Community Justice program in Scotland, and TUHF, a non-profit organization in Johannesburg, South Africa, to share their work, and contextualize the community safety solutions used locally. Students learned the different approaches being taken globally and had the chance to reflect on how those approaches might work well – or not – locally. The series ran from October 31 to November 14, 2023.
