Eileen's Experience at Humber

Please tell us about your time at Humber College. What was the best part of it?

My time at Humber College was such an amazing experience – from meeting professors, networking with other students, to learning the world of law enforcement. Humber prepared me for the real world and built connections that help excel in my career and goals. I was fascinated to learn and gain insight into the accomplishments and experiences of my professors and become just as knowledgeable in the field as they are. I’ve built so many friendships and mentorships throughout my years at Humber that I will forever be grateful for.

Please tell us about your experience since graduating.

After graduating, I gained Security experience in various professions, including the healthcare, transportation and hospitality industries. My Security experience helped me land a role in Loss Prevention as an Assistant Manager of Security & Safety at a top-employer hotel in the heart of downtown Toronto, which wouldn’t have been possible with the knowledge I gained from the PSI program. Everyday is a new experience where I get the chance to develop my skills and challenge myself to excel in law enforcement.

What do you find most satisfying about your career choice?

I have always been interested in the law enforcement field, so choosing to enroll in the PSI program was a no-brainer. I find satisfaction in conducting investigations and bringing a sense of Security to others, while maintaining a customer service aspect that radiates smiles and laughter. The Security industry is constantly evolving and just another meaningful way to serve others in the community. From the knowledge I gained and continue to develop, this is a path and career choice I will always pursue.
