Please tell us about your time at Humber College. What was the best part of it?
I started my time at Humber when I was looking for a career change, and I left feeling confident and prepared for the next steps in that process. The instructors at Humber were one of the best parts of the experience. They brought hands-on knowledge from the fields we wanted to join, and they genuinely cared about our success. They offered more than just the curriculum, they shared personal advice, professional tips, and networking opportunities. That extra support made a big difference to me and my classmates. We felt like we weren’t just learning theory but getting guidance on how to navigate the real world after graduation.
Please tell us about your experience since graduating.
After graduating, it took a few months to land my first role, which is normal when you’re starting out in a new field. I am now a Security Analyst at Canada’s Wonderland. In this role, I work as a part of a team within the security department. It’s a dynamic environment that requires quick thinking, risk assessment, and problem-solving. My experiences at Humber gave me the skills I need to thrive in my new career.
What do you find most satisfying about your career choice?
What I enjoy most about my career is knowing that the work I do helps keep people safe. Security analyst work isn’t just about analyzing data; it’s about using that data to make real world changes to improve safety protocols and systems. At Canada’s Wonderland, I get to see the direct impact of that. I collaborate with a wide range of professionals, including law enforcement, paramedics, and internal teams. I love that the field is never static. New challenges and threats emerge all the time, so there’s always an opportunity to learn and grow.
