Please tell us about your time at Humber College. What was the best part of it?
During my time in the PSI program at Humber College, I enjoyed learning in an academic environment characterized by dedicated faculty and diverse peers. The supportive guidance provided by committed professors boasting extensive experience in the criminal justice landscape, coupled with immersive hands-on learning opportunities, both in and out of the classroom, allowed me to discover the interesting field of crime and intelligence analysis. Invaluable opportunities such as an internship and volunteering experiences provided me with essential practical skills crucial for my future career. My time at Humber was transformative, providing me with a solid foundation in my field and shaping me into a confident and capable professional. I will be forever grateful for the invaluable experiences and opportunities afforded to me during my time at Humber College.
Please tell us about your experience since graduating.
Following my graduation from the PSI program I went on to complete Humber College’s Criminal Justice Degree program where I received the opportunity to do a co-op with Peel Police and worked part-time in security as well as a private investigator. Presently, I am working as a Regional Crime Analyst for the Government of Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety. In this capacity, I am able to utilize the knowledge and practical skills from the PSI program to make a tangible impact on the community I serve.
What do you find most satisfying about your career choice?
The most satisfying aspect of my career is in being a part of a dedicated team committed to enhancing community safety. Collaboratively, we provide vital information and intelligence to numerous agencies, streamlining their operations and bolstering their effectiveness in safeguarding society. Contributing to this collective effort brings me immense satisfaction, knowing that our work directly contributes to making our communities safer and more secure.
