Renata's Experience at Humber

Please tell us about your time at Humber College. What was the best part of it?

My experience at Humber College was great. From the facilities to the instructors and the assistance offered to the students. The PSI program offered “a taste” of each career path one can take in this field. With some knowledge of our options, the students feel more comfortable choosing which path to follow in their career. The opportunity of “living” hands on the experience in many different subjects guided me on choosing which career I wanted to pursue.

Please tell us about your experience since graduating.

I first started working with loss prevention when I was still studying at humber college. I then switched to being an insurance fraud investigator for a Canada-wide company. I started conducting surveillance, which was a great start as an insurance fraud investigator. Then, I changed roles. I am now a researcher for the same company. I conduct online investigations to assist the surveillance team and to provide the clients with the information and evidence they are seeking.

What do you find most satisfying about your career choice?

Pursuing the insurance fraud investigation field has been exciting and rewarding with the feeling of giving back to the community.
