Active Attacker Drills on Lakeshore Campus
Tags: December 2023, Vol. 4, Issue 1
This September, Humber College conducted their annual Active Attacker Drills. The goal of the drills is to test our procedures and ensure community members know and understand what to do in the unlikely event of an active threat on any of our campuses or locations. Announcements were made on campus, where possible, to let members of the public know that that the drills were about to commence, at which point the actual active attacker message played. During these drills, all activity on campus must stop, and community members are asked to follow the Active Attacker Response procedures: Run, Hide, Defend. However, During the drill, only the “run” and “hide” parts of the response are tested. The drills last between 10 to 15 minutes. Humber College Lakeshore thanks all students, staff, and community partners for their participation in these drills, and in helping to keep our Lakeshore Community safe.
