Interpretive Centre Tours

With the increased presence of learners on campus, the Interpretive Centre is excited to share that over 1,400 students, staff, and community are participating in guided historical tours this semester! Showcasing the beautiful Lakeshore Campus and sharing the unique heritage of this land, our team breaks down negative stereotypes and misconceptions and contextualizes the history of the site for learners before they launch into their careers within social and community services.

Most popular, the Hospital History Tour (formerly called the Tunnel Tour) shares the 89-year history of the Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital through an exploration of patient-built underground tunnels that connect the Cottage buildings.
