The Interpretive Centre is excited to resume guided historic tours of the Lakeshore Grounds this spring! Tunnel Tours are now available for small groups, with public tour times and updates available at LakeshoreGrounds.ca. Discover the 89-year history of the former Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital by exploring the patient-built underground tunnels and unfinished attics and dig deeper into the realities of the campus’ history across different decades. Tours are offered free of charge, pre-registration required. The duration is roughly 1.25-1.5 hours long, the route is mobility accessible and includes the underground tunnels and cottage buildings, served by ramps and elevators. Optional entry to the Attics requires steep stairs.
Follow @LakeshoreGRNDS on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for announcements on additional upcoming tours. Overall the Interpretive Centre has had over 40 people join them for a tour since May 1st.
