Emma Smith and Ann Wallington Seconded as Academic Program Managers

On February 27th, we welcomed Emma Smith and Ann Wallington as Academic Program Managers (APMs) in the FSCS.

As the Program Co-ordinator for the Bachelor of Social Science – Criminal Justice degree since 2019, Emma has worked collaboratively with faculty on the development of new courses and strategies for hybrid learning. Emma’s passion for student engagement is notable in the creation of program mentorship forums and dynamic networking activities. Most recently she aided in the conception of a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) project in partnership with the University of West Indies. Emma continues to be an active contributor on several FSCS committees that are focused on equity and accessibility in the workplace. Completing her doctoral studies in Communication and Culture from Toronto Metropolitan University and York University, Emma is currently working with the Toronto Police Service on the expansion of the Neighbourhood Community Officer Program.

Ann Wallington

Ann Wallington

Ann has been a full-time faculty member in the Faculty of Social and Community Services since 2015. Prior to this, she was a full-time faculty member and program co-ordinator at Seneca College. During her time at Humber, Ann has served on several committees including the FSCS Teaching and Learning Working Group, and Humber College Council. She has previously worked as an adjudicator on the Discipline Committee of the Ontario College of Trades. Ann has been involved in several research projects most recently as the principal investigator on a three-year project funded through NSERC – CCSIF. Ann holds a Master of Laws from York University Osgoode Hall Law School, a Master of Arts from Central Michigan University, a Bachelor of Arts from Laurentian University, a diploma in adult education from St. Francis Xavier University, and a certificate in adjudication from Osgoode Hall Law School/Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators.
