Forensic Identification Students Visit the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service
On November 20, 2025, students and faculty from the Forensic Identification (FI) program visited the OFPS for a full day of learning and professional exposure. They had the opportunity to see various areas of work firsthand, including dispatch operations, morgue services, autopsy services, histology, evidence management, forensic photography, anthropology, and the different disciplines within the Centre of Forensic Science (CFS).
Throughout the visit, students learned from professionals working in these roles, including several Humber Forensic Identification program graduates. Their insights helped students connect classroom learning to real-world positions in the field. Seeing alumni confidently working in these environments reinforced the value of the hands-on learning that takes place in the Humber Forensic Identification program.
The day also helped students understand how each team at OFPS contributes to the overall forensic process. Whether the work involves analysis, documentation, or support, seeing the full picture helped students grasp the range of opportunities available after graduation.
The FI students and faculty deeply appreciate the time and openness of everyone involved in making this trip possible.
