Humber Pathways Fair 2024 – Jan 22th & 24th
Students and staff from FSCS attended this year’s annual Pathways Fair, hosted by Humber College. The popular event allows students to explore different transfer opportunities. FSCS had an informational booth showcasing the many pathway opportunities across our programs.
AFSCS Careers in Justice Job Fair – Feb 8th
FSCS hosted a Careers in Justice Job Fair this semester, featuring booths from 20 different partners. Approximately 400 students attended the event. Partners included TTC Special Constable Unit, Victim Services Toronto, and Toronto Police Service. The event provided networking opportunities for students.
FSCS Professional Development Event – Feb 29th
FSCS hosted a faculty professional development session on AI Literacy, facilitated by Laura Facciolo from the Centre for Innovative Learning. The workshop provided an overview of key concepts, terminology, ethical considerations, and applications of generative AI in assessment contexts, and provided opportunities for discussion amongst participants. FSCS will continue to plan workshops focused on AI and digital learning throughout the upcoming academic year.
Humber College Spring Open House – April 6th
Faculty, Program Co-ordinators, staff, and students came together to represent the Faculty of Social and Community Services at the annual Spring Open House. The College wide event provides a great opportunity for prospective students to ask questions, meet instructors, explore the campus, and learn more about their programs of interest. This year saw over 1,700 guests pass through the L Building, where the FSCS booth was set up.
