On Wednesday, October 16th, 2019, students from the Addictions and Mental Health program participated in Mind Map: Humber College’s Mental Health Summit organized by the Canadian mental health charity Jack.Org.
The event focused on teaching students about self-care while breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. The ADMH students hosted an art therapy workshop at the summit led by Julia Cusato and Victoria Kodytuakku to promote the benefits of engaging in simple mindfulness activities such as painting, to reduce stress and improve self-awareness.
Students Julia Cusato and Nicholas Salituro, who volunteer at Spectra Helpline, participated in the Resource Fair to inform students of local resources available to them when they need extra support.
