Community Development Students Organize the BLAC Project

Community Development students took a lead in planning and implementing the BLAC Project, a Spoken Word Poetry Club offered on wednesdays from 4:00 – 6:00 pm out of the BASE.

The open group now has 25 members who are improving their literacy and public speaking skills while exploring personal and system challenges through a self-reflective process. Project leads, Igho, Rushann and Prince, noted "this project not only builds skills, but it also builds community and a sense of deep belonging among students that is very powerful."
