On October 25, a Global Speaker Webinar brought together a specialist in Canada and the Netherlands as guest speakers on the topic of Working with Developmental & Intellectual Disabilities: Supports & Interventions. Students from the Developmental Service Worker, Social Service Worker, and Behavioural Science programs were invited to attend, along with students from the school of psychology at Saxion University, to hear about the approaches and case studies shared by Audrey Meissner, Clinical Director at Central West Specialized Developmental Services in Canada, and Marije Sleurink, Professor of Psychology at Saxion University in the Netherlands. Meissner and Sleurink lead a conversation and discussion with attendees on what they learned from an intercultural perspective and encouraged students to compare and contrast approaches and interventions in a globalizing world.
