In September, the Faculty of Social and Community Services welcomed its third group of students from the Nanjing Forest Police College in Nanjing, China. Students are enrolled in courses in the Forensic Identifications Post-Graduate Certificate program and the Police Foundations program. Through this partnership, students from Nanjing can complete one semester of their studies at Humber. They are given the unique opportunity to expand their knowledge of basic crime scene investigation skills and techniques while being exposed to the Canadian justice and college system. Students have been enjoying hands-on experiential learning embedded in their courses while making friends in and out of the classroom.
In addition to welcoming this group of students, the FSCS is also currently hosting two visiting scholars, Shen (Sally) Li and Yuanliang (Ella) Yu, who will be working on projects and research alongside faculty in the justice cluster programs. Shen and Yuanliang are both professors at the Nanjing Forest Police College and look forward to getting to know FSCS faculty and staff.
