As a result of updates to the Copyright Act and the ongoing York University lawsuit brought by Access Copyright, Humber launched a mandatory online copyright training course to be delivered to all full-time and contract faculty. The institution believes that this approach is the best defense against any potential liability for Humber and/or its faculty.
The modules and the required quiz are offered through Blackboard. Login to https://learn.humber.ca and look under the “courses where you are a student” section for Copyright for Faculty. Since this is a college-wide initiative, contract faculty will be compensated for their time.
