Scope

The FSCS Placement Procedures and Practices Guide applies to all faculty, staff and students of the FSCS prior, during and post placement, from the time of application to a course or program through to completion of the course or graduation from the program.

The practices and procedures contained in this document apply to all students registered in any Humber course or program offered by the FSCS, in any location or in any format. They also extend into the field and are applicable in the placement setting. In addition to these placement practices and procedures, there may be supplemental regulations connected to specific Placement Employer policies. It is the responsibility of students to familiarize themselves with the applicable requirements that may apply within the FSCS, program of study and agency. At times, the individual circumstances of a particular program may require a minor variation in procedure. These will be communicated via the program specific Field Placement Experience Guide and/or by an FSCS Representative.

The FSCS Placement Procedures and Practices Guide does not supersede or negate any rights or responsibilities provided by law, and does not seek to limit the rights or freedom of expression as provided by law; behavior that interferes with Humber’s operations, an agency’s operations, a students’ ability to learn and practice in the field and/or the integrity of the institution and/or field placement employer is unacceptable and addressed in part within this document as well as in Humber’s Academic Regulations.

Note: Decisions on whether violations of placement practices and procedures have occurred will be based upon a review of evidence provided by the parties involved, gathered by the investigator and assessed on the standard of balance probabilities.
