Failing, Unsatisfactory and Incomplete Grades

In the case where placement hours and/or documentation/assignments have not been completed by the end of the term, the student will receive a failing grade or a grade of Unsatisfactory (UNS). In special circumstances, students who are unable (for reasons beyond their control) to finish a minimal amount of placement hours by the end of a term may request to extend their placement in order to have all hours and supporting documentation completed; in these situations, an Incomplete (INC) grade may be assigned. The Incomplete grade is not intended to be a permanent grade. It is only a temporary acknowledgement of a legitimate reason for granting a one time, limited, extension to the time normally allotted to complete all course requirements. Seminar Instructors/Faculty Advisors are encouraged to consult with the Program Coordinator or Placements and Partnerships Manager for support in making this determination.

All outstanding placement hours and documentation must be completed during the period of time arranged by the Seminar Instructor/Faculty Advisor and agreed upon by the Placement Supervisor. Failure to meet the deadline will result in the INC grade being changed to permanently represent the student’s grade in that course.
