The Forensic Dual Diagnostic Specialty Service Conference

Sat, December 01, 2018

On September 19th and 20th, the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health held its inaugural Forensic Dual Diagnostic Specialty Service Conference.

The Conference was entitled Exploring Risk and Recovery in Dual Diagnosis. The School of Social and Community Services, represented by the Bachelor of Behavioural Science, was a Conference co-sponsor. Over 250 participants were in attendance.

Jo Anne Nugent, Coordinator of the Bachelor of Behavioural Science, and John Kosmopoulos, Coordinator of the Behavioural Science Graduate Certificate, were in attendance. Both programs had a table at the Conference, which was an excellent opportunity to highlight our two programs.

Presenters included the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, and experts in the field of forensic services to a wide range of service recipient groups. Sessions focused on service delivery and research.

Thanks to Louis Busch, a member of the BBS Program Advisory Committee, a key player in Humber’s participation in the FDDSS Conference. We look forward to participating in the 2nd annual conference next year!
